Performance Art Podcast Live @ AMCh/Grootlab
with main guest JENNIFER LACEY
Ten January, four PM
Hosted by Noha Ramadan,
Veem House for Performance
! For this edition we move to Grootlab, the new location of the Graduate School Amsterdam, where we are hosted by the Amsterdam Master of Choreography.
You are warmly invited to join us for The Sunday Scene #3. The Sunday Scene is both a gathering and a podcast, broadcast live every month.
This third episode unpacks the work and life of invited American artist and choreographer Jennifer Lacey through an in-depth interview by moderator Noha Ramadan.
We are very excited with the opportunity to have Lacey at our table as she is visiting Amsterdam for a few days to work with the students of the AMCh.
Therefore Veem takes its recognizable Sunday Scene’s living room setting to the Grootlab and provides with this ‘pop-up radio session’ during the Graduate School’s first week in the building, a sort of unofficial studio warming.
JENNIFER LACEY is an renowned American choreographer now based in Paris. During the 90’s in New York City, Lacey was a member of the Randy Warshaw Dance Company as well as a dancer with Jennifer Monson, DD Dorvillier, John Jasperse, Yvonne Meier and Ellen Fisher among others. At the same time she began developing her own work, which has been presented at international venues including PS122, the Kitchen, ImPulsTanz, The Tate Modern, the Biennale de Lyon, Tanzquatier Vienna, Centre Pompidou, and Kyoto Arts Center, often in close collaboration with visual artist Nadia Lauro. Jennifer received a Doris Duke Impact Award in 2014 and a Guggenheim fellowship in 2015.
We look forward to spending the afternoon with you, and listen to the story of this inspiring artistic mind, to a Postcard from Abroad by Dries Douibi, local news from the (performing arts) scene, and an update on the (political) weather by Robbert van Heuven.
Broadcasting these frequencies: energy, vision, smarts, open hearts, playful minds.
Join us live with homemade Korean soup (!) by DasArts student Ja ha Koo, or listen to our podcast online if you are abroad: http://mixlr.com/
